Sarah Ganim is an American journalist who was born on September 9, 1987, in Detroit, Michigan. She is best known for her investigative reporting on the Jerry Sandusky scandal, which led to the conviction of the former Penn State football coach for child sexual abuse. Ganim covered the story for the Harrisburg Patriot-News, and her reporting earned her the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting in 2012, when she was just 24 years old.
After her work on the Sandusky scandal, Ganim worked as a reporter for CNN and later joined CNN Politics as a reporter and digital producer covering the 2016 presidential campaign. In 2018, she joined NBC News as a national investigative reporter, where she continues to cover major news events and break stories. Ganim has also been recognized with several other prestigious awards, including the George Polk Award, the Livingston Award for Young Journalists, and the Sigma Delta Chi Award.
